When styling Laura Marano for her electrifying performance at Nissan’s Super Girl Surf Pro, I wanted her outfit to capture the spirit of empowerment and energy that the event embodies. This isn’t just any concert — it’s a celebration of strong, fearless women, and Laura’s look had to reflect that powerful vibe.

I reached out to the talented designer Coral Castillo, known for her incredible handcrafted macramé pieces, to create something unique and memorable. Together, we designed a stunning macramé top paired with a flowy skirt that perfectly balanced texture and movement — essential for a high-energy stage performance.

The macramé top featured intricate knot work that added depth and dimension, making Laura stand out against the bright, vibrant backdrop of the surf competition. The skirt flowed beautifully with every move, catching the light and amplifying her presence on stage.

Functionality was just as important as style. Laura needed to be able to move freely and express herself fully, and the lightweight fabrics ensured she stayed comfortable and confident throughout her performance.

Working on this look for such an inspiring event was an absolute privilege. It was about more than just fashion — it was about amplifying a message of strength, grace, and authenticity through style.
